frequently asked questions

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DOES YOUR COACH HAVE?
Tony holds the following credentials:
  • ASI Level One Surfing Instructor
  • Surfing Australia Level 1 Surf Instructor qualification
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
  • A current Working With Children check
  • Apply First Aid Certificate

DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM NUMBER REQUIREMENT?
The minimum number for a surf lesson is 3 with a maximum of 8.

WHEN ARE LESSONS AVAILABLE?
All lessons are available by appointment. We operate on weekends when the majority of surfers-to-be have time to hit the waves.

DO YOU OPERATE IN WINTER?
Of course we do! You get to wear a full length wetsuit.

I DON'T LIKE DEEP WATER, DO YOU GO IN DEEP WATER?
For beginner lessons, we only go out waist deep, or as comfortable as you feel.

WHAT ABOUT SHARKS?
Sharks are fascinating fish that live in the sea. Statistics show that you are more likely to be hurt by lightning, than by a shark. The most dangerous part about the beach is drowning. This is why we teach how to spot a rip, and how to get out of one. Our coaches are also life saving Australia trained, so you can feel safe.

WHAT AGES CAN BE IN A SURF LESSON?
5 years and up! If you have a little one under just under 5 years, call us to see if they are able to participate.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO THE SURF LESSON?
A comfy pair of bathers (best to have them on under your clothes all ready to go), a towel, and drinking water. We provide you with sunscreen, however it's best to slather on some good old SPF30+  before heading to the beach to make sure you are covered.

WHAT DO YOU SUPPLY?
  • A super enthusiastic and professional surf coach
  • A soft beginners surf board
  • A full length steamer wetsuit
  • A rash vest
  • SPF 50+ sunscreen
  • Premium surf tuition
  • Lots of fun!

ARE THERE TOILETS NEARBY?
Yes, indeed, right next to the car park.

WHAT IF IT IS RAINING?
Surfing in the rain is a gnarly experience. Surf lessons still go ahead if it is raining as the lessons take place in the water, so you are going to get wet anyway!

PAYMENT TYPES ACCEPTED
We accept payments via direct debit or card payment online.
